I’m Jakobi Alleyne, a Computer Science & Electronics student at UWI Cave Hill, based in Barbados. My main focus is AI and machine learning.
I’m building practical experience through Coursera labs, other coursework, and hands-on projects. I use projects to put course concepts into practice, explore new ideas, and keep expanding my skills.
I enjoy understanding the mathematics behind a model and bringing it into code. My interests also span robotics, connected sensors, embedded systems, and the connection between intelligent software and physical hardware.

Technologies and methods I’m using and developing through courses, labs, and projects.

My projects put machine learning into practice through language support and classifier training, alongside robotics, embedded automation, and circuit analysis.
I’m investigating how account-normalized behavioural anomaly detection can work alongside supervised machine learning to identify transaction fraud.
The question is whether comparing a transaction with an account’s usual behaviour adds useful information beyond population-level patterns.
Research in developmentA classifier using transaction and behavioural features.
Adds an anomaly score based on patterns across accounts.
Adds a score based on deviations from each account’s past behaviour.
Experience across banking operations, website development, and hands-on technical maintenance.
Worked with the ServiceNow change-ticket lifecycle, supported change readiness across teams, and produced operational and high-risk change reports. Led the development of a centralized dashboard and improved the operational meeting framework, which was approved for permanent adoption.
Diagnosed and repaired conveyor-system faults, and serviced elevators and car lift parking systems. Maintained technical records while carrying out practical electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
Led the development and publication of a charity website from concept to launch. Planned the work, maintained the site, and refined its functionality and presentation through stakeholder feedback.
Assembled and wired electrical control cabinets and traffic light units. Programmed traffic controllers for signal sequencing and carried out live fault diagnosis on malfunctioning systems.
Hands-on exercises and testing work have helped me develop the foundations behind my larger projects.
Worked on audio sampling and playback, then used a companion Python serial workflow to reconstruct WAV data and inspect its binary structure.
Documented game and learning-platform workflows, validation issues, expected and actual results, and defect evidence.
Budget Builders database coursework, relational modelling and SQL, alongside operating systems, microprocessor labs, and control systems.
